Enable Developer Mode

To install the Cozy Commons Alpha, you need to have Developer Mode enabled.

  • Open Settings
  • Select “About”
  • Scroll down to Build Number
  • Tap Build Number several times until “You are now a developer” appears.

Note that some phones such as Samsung will occasionally change the name of items, so your screen may not 100% match the instructions above or in the video.

Adjust Settings for Chrome & Google Drive

Next, we need to modify Chrome’s settings to ensure it doesn’t block the installation later on.

  • Open Settings
  • Select Apps Special App Access  Install Unknown Apps *
  • Select Chrome
  • Enable Allow from this source
  • Go back and select Drive
  • Enable Allow from this source

Tip!  Some versions of Android might not quite match the instructions above. If you can’t find it, try simply searching for “Install unknown apps” in your Settings app as a shortcut.
